Dr. Dustin Lively

As a native of Mangum, OK, Dr. Lively is a dentist near Altus who enjoys providing exceptional dental care to residents who need a way to embrace life with a healthier smile. With decades of trusted experience, he possesses unique skills and talents that range from general dentistry to treating sleep-breathing disorders.

His interest in dentistry did not begin, however, until he learned he needed braces at the age of 13. Paying attention to what it was and how it worked, he pursued treatment and continued to observe the methodology of dental care. As he grew older, he attended Western Oklahoma State College and Oklahoma State University, completing his bachelor’s degree. He then went on to receive his dental degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.

Much of his time spent afterward included pursuing continuing education courses at the Misch Implant Institute and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. As a highly trained professional who can help others with airway needs, he works to resolve issues that can impact a person’s sleep patterns.

Dr. Lively has trained with some of the most prestigious sleep experts in the field, including Dr. Kent Smith of Dallas and Dr. Erin Elliot of Idaho.

As a dentist who is equipped to treat all types of smiles and dental situations, he spends time each day praying for his patients. Embarking on a journey to discover a higher purpose in life, he found a clear vision and purpose, which led him to decide that he wanted to make sure he had all the tools required to help others as much as possible. This has led to him building lasting relationships with his patients over the years.

When he’s not busy helping patients who live near Altus, he’s often building something with his hands, including serving as the general contractor for the 333 Dental Care remodel project. He also enjoys flying and received his pilot license 15 years ago.

Dr. Lively and his wife, Tuni, have three daughters, and they enjoy spending as much time as possible together as a family. You’ll also likely find him volunteers with King ComeUNITY as well as various federally funded dental clinics throughout the area.

Frequently Asked Questions – Answered!

Here are the answers to some of the most common questions we receive at 333 Dental Care. If you don’t see the information that you’ve been looking for below, don’t worry. Give us a call and we’d be happy to address any questions or concerns that you have.

How can I make a same-day appointment with a dentist?

If you are experiencing an urgent dental emergency, we will always do our best to see you on the same day. It is always best to call when scheduling a same-day appointment. That way, you can let us know what’s going on so we can understand your situation and get you the best care possible. The goal of this appointment is to assess the situation, eliminate the cause of any pain, and put together a treatment plan to address the root of the problem.

How much does it cost to get a tooth pulled without insurance?

The cost of a tooth extraction varies depending on the geography and other factors, like your dental health. The average fee for an extraction in markets throughout the United States is between $150 and $400. Additional fees may apply depending on the difficulty of pulling the tooth and whether sedation or other procedures are needed. If you have dental insurance, you will likely receive partial coverage for necessary tooth extractions, but it is always best to confirm this with your insurance provider ahead of time. We would be happy to help you with this process.

What level of education is required to be a dentist?

All dentists in the United States must have received either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) from one of the 67 accredited dental schools in the country. Acceptance into dental school requires a bachelor’s degree. Dental school is 3 years with a combination of classroom and hands-on learning. In addition to all of that, dentists are required to complete a certain number of continuing education hours each year to keep their licenses.

How do I find the best place to get dental work done?

This ultimately depends on what you are looking for. You should think about what is important to you when seeking dental care. This is usually a combination of welcoming your insurance, location, and services offered. Are you interested in just cleanings and checkups or are you also looking for tooth-replacement solutions or cosmetic options? Finally, you should get a feel for the practice. A good way to do this is by reading patient reviews. You can also check out the doctor and team bio sections on the practice’s website. This way, you can decide if your own personal criteria are met.
